Do not tarp your fire pit, the tarp will cause the patina to blacken and stop the oxidation process. In many cases the color of the tarp will transfer to the new steel. During the maturing process keep wet leaves and debris off the piece until the steel matures. Allow the piece to mature with each fire. Sit back, relax and enjoy your new Fire Pit Art®.
The Liquid Propane and Natural Gas burning variants of the Crater Fire Pit include a Penta 24" 200K BTU burner. This burner provides a flame that is great for small to medium sized gatherings. Worth every penny! I do wish I spent more for the Navigator or the like - would be my only regret. However, the large bowl area helps shield the wind, roll the flames and provide all the heat and ambience expected! I bought the grate and pit cover, too, and these are perfect as well. I’d recommend this to anyone (or everyone).
I bought the Crater fire pit 7 years ago. It is just as beautiful now as the day I got it. It will definitely last a lifetime. I'm very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. I looked at so many fire pits and then just bought this one over the internet hoping it would look like the pictures and it does. It's been a gathering spot for us for years now and one of the best investments we've made in our yard.
I recently purchased a wood burning Crater Fire Pit with Spark Screen and I am very impressed with the construction quality and appearance. I also have a Wings in Flight log rack. This set is a nice complement to my patio and I expect to thoroughly enjoy them fall.
